Common Questions
Coverage
I often get asked if naturopathic medicine is covered under provincial health services. Unfortunately, the answer is no (although I wish it was covered!). Naturopathic medicine can be billed under extended benefits/health insurance such as Blue Cross, Canada Life, SunLife, Manulife, etc.
Why does it cost so much?
Trust me, I wish I had a better way around it!
I spend a lot of time outside of your appointment reviewing the case, researching investigations and treatment for you as an individual, and then deliver it during the appointment. The cost is not only covering my time and knowledge, but is also allowing us to pay our front desk a living wage, to supply materials for physical exams and everything else that goes into making sure our patients have a seamless and positive clinical experience.
If you are on a fixed income or from a low income household please feel free to reach out so we can work together on removing any barriers to care.
Cancellation Policy
Our cancellation policy allows you to cancel or reschedule an appointment 24 hours beforehand free of charge. After the window has passed a fee will be charged to compensate for the time preparing for the case and appointment time lost that another patient could have used. Emergency exceptions can be made.
What treatments do you use?
I commonly use nutrition, herbal medicine, specific, evidence based supplements and pharmaceuticals in a treatment plan. If you see me in person I may do acupuncture, dry needling and orthopedic testing to help depending on the concerns.
